WellBeingHER Physical Activity Pilot: Transforming Oncology Care Through Exercise
WellBeingHER is advancing rapidly, driven by a team of highly trained experts in exercise oncology and medical professionals dedicated to enhancing patient care. With fewer than 7% of cancer patients currently meeting exercise recommendations, the need for structured physical activity interventions has never been more urgent.
This pioneering initiative offers a holistic training program designed to mirror the quality, evidence-based approach, and effectiveness of cancer treatment plans for early breast cancer patients. By addressing the critical gap in structured exercise integration within oncology, WellBeingHER provides a clear, science-backed roadmap to improve treatment outcomes and overall well-being.
The program incorporates proven methodologies such as 4x4 aerobic endurance training and structured strength training strategies, both of which have demonstrated significant benefits for cancer patients. Unlike traditional research-focused projects, WellBeingHER prioritises implementation, awareness, and adoption among patients and healthcare providers to ensure immediate impact.
Since its launch in October 2024, the project has successfully integrated weekly outdoor exercise sessions in Latvia, demonstrating excellent adherence and paving the way for the seamless incorporation of exercise into oncology care. In Germany the Physical Activity Pilot will start in April with outdoor training sessions and a Webinar at the end of April.
Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to expand and enhance this transformative initiative.
