Outdoor Against Cancer at the Breast Cancer Information Day in Großhadern, Munich
On February 26, 2025, Outdoor Against Cancer (OAC) proudly participated in the Breast Cancer Information Day at the Großhadern Clinic in Munich. The Großhadern Clinic (part of the University Hospital of Munich – LMU) is one of Germany’s leading institutions in the field of oncology. The clinic is particularly renowned for its breast cancer treatment, offering innovative therapy concepts and holistic patient care.
Several hundred patients, experts, pharmaceutical companies, breast cancer organisations and other companies supporting cancer patients participated. At our dedicated booth, we showcased the four OAC pillars of a healthy lifestyle and introduced our WellBeingHER project, supporting breast cancer patients.
The extensive program covered a variety of topics, including “Early and Advanced/Metastatic Breast Cancer: Updates on Diagnosis and Therapy”; during an expert panel moderated by Prof. Dr. med. Rachel Würstlein, Senior Consultant at the Breast Center and Oncology Day Clinic at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU), along with Renate Haidinger, Chairwoman of Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V., patients had the opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts. The coffee breaks also provided plenty of time for networking and exchange.
While presenting WellBeingHER a key focus of the discussions of OAC Medical Director Dr. Tom Degenhardt and Devin Bayer (Health Consulting, Research and Science at OAC) was the new 4x4 training program for cancer patients, launching in April in several parks across Munich. The scientifically backed interval training designed for people living with and beyond cancer covers a proven approach with four phases of exertion and four phases of recovery to promote fitness, regeneration, and well-being for oncology patients.
This innovative approach promotes physical activity as an essential part of recovery and well-being. We are excited to offer this opportunity to patients looking to regain strength and resilience through structured, supportive training.
By the way - the waiting list is open. Stay tuned for more details!
