First WellBeingHER Webinar: A Powerful Start to Promoting Active Recovery
On 4 June 2025, the first WellBeingHER Webinar on Why Physical Activity and Exercise is Essential for Cancer Patients took place with participants from across Europe. Hosted by Outdoor Against Cancer (OAC) the event focused on how physical activity can support recovery and long-term well-being in breast cancer survivors.
The webinar was moderated by Petra Thaller, Founder and President of Outdoor Against Cancer, featured insights from Ph.D. Rūdolfs Cešeiko, Exercise Physiologist and OAC Exercise Expert & Advisor Oncology from Latvia – both being cancer survivors themselves – who shared practical recommendations on integrating movement into everyday life. He discussed how strength training and aerobic endurance training can play a key role in recovery, regardless of age or treatment history.
Participants received actionable advice on:
Safe return to physical activity after surgery or treatment
Understanding VO₂max, strength training, and aerobic endurance training
Setting realistic goals based on personal condition and motivation
