WellBeingHER

About the project

This project creates a holistic platform for early breast cancer patients, integrating nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being into cancer care.

WellBeingHER will run until the end of 2027.

  • Despite significant advancements in individualised and highly targeted treatment plans for breast cancer patients, there remains a notable absence of comprehensive recommendations for various other aspects of patient care including nutrition, physical activity, and mental wellbeing.

Recent research has indicated that incorporating regular physical activity and adopting a well-balanced, nutrient-dense diet are integral components of comprehensive cancer care that can improve treatment outcomes, enhance quality of life, and promote long-term health and well-being for cancer survivors. Yet, there is little to no guidance, inadequate resources, and discouragement on integrating holistic approaches into cancer care. With this project OAC and Cancer Patients Europe (CPE) aim to fill the gap and provide a tailored and holistic wellbeing platform for early breast cancer patients.

  • Through WellBeingHER, we aim to provide guidance for early breast cancer patients  by creating a tailored and holistic well-being platform for early breast cancer patients. We aim to

    • Create: To create a comprehensive and holistic training programme that goes hand in hand with a cancer treatment plan.

    • Empower: To empower individuals to actively manage their health and well-being throughout their journey.

    • Study: To develop a research study to investigate the combined impact of a wellness treatment plan and cancer care.

    • Advocate:  To integrate this holistic well-being plan as a standard component of cancer diagnosis and treatment.

  • Duration

Starting in October 2024; runtime 3-4 years

    Participating Countries

    Several countries throughout Europe.

    Supported by:

    amedes, Daiichi Sankyo
